I can’t get enough flower and bloom quotes! There are so many and they all apply to my themes for A Year in Bloom.

A Year in Bloom is my philosophy for life – I want to live my life as if I am blooming, facing the sun in full bloom – my best, brightest, healthiest, and happiest.

I am doing a 365 Day Challenge as part of A Year in Bloom. You can see a Word of the Day every single day with a “theme” word and some inspiration in my private Facebook group. It is the only place I am sharing the word every day. I hope to see you there: http://facebook.com/groups/ayearinbloom

Plan

Posted on January 5th, 2017 by & filed under 365 Day Challenge

Is it time for you to make a PLAN?

plan-1When it comes to planning, I am totally on it.

Parties, events, schedules, anything and everything.

I am about checklists, and graphs, mapping, and hashing out. Pre-brief, re-brief, de-brief.

What about when it is about me?

How do I know what I want for my Life Plan?

Of the four styles of planning that Sue Loncaric mentions in her post about Creating a Life Plan in the link above, I am most likely these days to use intention planning.

I have actually tried and used all four of the types over the years and feel confident that there are benefits to all of them. Personally, I think for the purpose of planning one’s life direction – intention planning is the best. Of course, I consider myself at my midlife – so I wouldn’t know for sure. But that is the way I am leaning right now. I would like to dive deeper into what intention planning means to me.

“Intention Planning is where you actually imagine yourself in your goal. As in the example of Iceland holiday, you imagine yourself there. You taste it, smell it and feel it. Let’s say again, you want to go to Iceland. Each step you plan is reinforcing your goal into your subconscious until you are there.” ~Sue Loncaric

I see it as a vision…what I want my end goal to be, and knowing that, holding it my heart, in my mind’s eye, creates in me a desire to go in that direction, and my focus, my actions, my decisions are all reflected in the inert need to complete my journey. When I arrive and reach my goal, fulfill my plan, achieve my dream – I know then that I have succeeded. Yes! I intended to do this! Yes, my core desire is to do this thing. It is part of who I am and I can’t stop doing it if I tried. It is me and I am it.

hqdefaultI like to keep lists and journals, and I do use the sticky note system. I have been compared to Spongebob Squarepants who in an episode where he was the party planner, he had everything on a checklist down to the minute. But Life is not a party. It doesn’t always go according to plan. That’s why I feel it is important to think about it and when the smile comes across your face and you see yourself in your moment of glory – that is when you will know what direction to take your life…You know what your soul knows.

“Your soul knows what you need to do to change and improve.” ~Tony Robbins

If it hasn’t risen to the surface yet, trust that it will. Feed your soul, dig deep, and you will find what you are looking for. It might not be a script or detailed minute by minute list, but you will know.

Cultivate

Cultivate

January 3, 2017

The theme for today is Cultivate.

cultivate-blog-2

To me, that means to prepare, to put the pre-work in, to develop and grow within my heart and in my actions.

I like the word because it motivates me to act on the intention – not just plan in my head what I need to do, but actually lay down the groundwork for my path to greatness.

cultivate

Preparing the way.

Cultivate also means to make friends.

Again, not just meet people and say hello, but to spend time with them building a relationship.

Cultivate. 2017 is about making things happen, not randomly, but with intention for making a lasting, powerful, and beautiful difference in my life and in the world.

2. Word for the Day

I don’t always read it or even open it and it doesn’t always resonate with me – but some days I love getting inspired by it! Consider subscribing to Word of the Day daily emails from Gratefulness.org

4. Inspiration Comes When We Need It

I met Marla Diann at the Connect Her conference this year. She is a remarkable branding and business coach. I hope to have a chance to interview her and introduce her to you on my talk show in 2016. I just can’t wait until then, so if you want to be inspired and learn how to make a difference in your life and your business, I highly recommend you contact her. Do not wait. I am talking to you. Yes you. I know what you need.

 5. Think Pink

Aurorae Aqua is a company that I adore. They have been supportive of me and have helped me out with sponsoring give aways on my live talk show. I love reviewing their products. Aurorae inspires me in many ways. Their slogan says it all: “Illuminate your Life” and now you can help support Breast Cancer Research by supporting Aurorae with the purchase of a plush pink towel during the month of October.

“Let us open our minds to new adventures and opportunities. It’s within all of us to reach deep within our souls and visualize the dreams we so deserve. Let’s choose the challenges of life rather than an unfulfilled existence. Be Bold, Proud, Creative and Unafraid. Calm the mind and let these Impressions guide you through your practice. Remember, it’s your yoga.” ~Aurorae Yoga

6. Inspiration can be Found at Breakfast…or Lunch

The Most Important Meals of the Day Start at Sangers & Joe:

A Globally Inspired Café Just Opened in Old Town Pasadena

Just in time for a warm and blustery Pasadena autumn, Old Town Pasadena welcomes a new neighbor to the beautiful brick-clad historic community. Introducing Sangers & Joe, a vibrant and inviting breakfast, lunch and brunch cafe boasting tasty intercontinental-inspired dishes and beverages opened Thursday, October 15th, 2015.

“Sanger,” Australian lingo for sandwiches and, “Joe,” meaning coffee, of course, combined to create a modern and airy market-style cafe featuring a myriad of tasty breakfast, lunch and brunch dishes, alongside coffee, tea, natural sodas and even a handful of beer and wine options. “The name itself reflects a casual eatery,” says Managing Partner Scott Kay. “We really wanted to create a community-based café that locals will love.”

“When it comes down to it, it is not just about opening a cafe,” says Kay. “The inspiration stems more from partnering and connecting with the community.” And that mantra is just what Sangers & Joe is all about: an approachable neighborhood café for breakfast, lunch and brunch (and dinner… stay tuned!) that offers something for everyone in a warm and welcoming environment.

Sangers & Joe is open every Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, every Saturday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and every Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. For more information, please visit www.sangersandjoe.com or call Sangers & Joe directly at 323.553.0563.
