“Please look after this bear. Thank you.”

 What would you do? (Disclosure)

I know I couldn’t resist this adorable bear! I can’t wait to see this film! And, what an exciting adventure it would be to have a bear like Paddington in my life.

PADDINGTON bear is on a nationwide adventure and, he visited the Cesar Chavez Elementary School in Los Angeles to meet with a group of After-School All-Star students!

The principal did a reading of the book for the children and Paddington Bear interacted with the students while giving out big high-fives and hugs.

PADDINGTON will be released in theaters on January 16, 2015.

From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you.” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist (played by Nicole Kidman.)

At Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood Everyone is a Super Star! @USFG @TussaudsLA @MadameTussauds

You Can be a Superstar at Madame Tussauds!

Disclosure

Me and the real, yes, in the flesh – he is holding the camera, Sean Astin.

I love living near Hollywood because of the many opportunities I have to meet celebrities, attend shows, and even to get in on the action now and then. Lots of people I know who live in Los Angeles have some tie to “the industry.” I go to movie screenings all the time. I have even had the chance to be on the red carpet. (See my post on the Mom’s Night Out premier and Earth to Echo media event.)

But, what if you don’t live here? What if you or your friends do not work in the entertainment field? Everyone should be a superstar! Well, I have good news for you!

Hob nob with the greats. Rub shoulders with the stars. Smile for the camera. Walk the red carpet. Take a selfie with Ellen and Bradley Cooper, and more!

Where? How? When? You ask.

mt tile_madametussauds-hollywood

MT Summer 2014I know a place on Hollywood Boulevard where all the action is, it is right next door to the World Famous Chinese Theater, Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and the home of the Oscar’s – the Kodak Theater…it’s Madame Tussaud’s.

When I am at Madame Tussaud’s I feel like a celebrity. Who wouldn’t? In fact it is better than the real deal because you get to walk right up to the celebrities, take as many pictures as you want, and there are no handlers, no press, no lines. If you don’t like how you look in your selfie, just take a do over. (The wax figures can’t sign autographs, but that is a minor setback. You can take a photo of yourself holding a pen and autograph book…the possibilities are endless!)

With a little imagination and an attitude set for fun – the Hollywood spirit comes alive at Madame Tussaud’s.

Madame Tussaud’s has everything you love about Hollywood – movies, television, music, sports, and legendary celebrities. It took me and my family a few hours to see everything we wanted to see. We took tons of photos and we enjoyed the 4-D Marvel Super Heroes Movie. The 4-D experience is worth it if you love surprises. The overall experience at Madame Tussaud’s is entertaining, and fun. They have a big gift shop at the end and tons of movie and entertainment licensed merchandise and souvenirs to buy. So, if you are just visiting, on vacation, or just feel like hanging out with some celebrities, Madame Tussaud’s is the place to go.

The admission price is a little steep at $29.95 for adults. If you plan ahead you can get 30% off by purchasing your tickets online. Admission includes the 4D Marvel Super Heroes Movie.

I want to thank Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood and the U.s. Family Guide @USFG for giving me this opportunity. I received my ticket for free for the purpose of writing a review, however I was not obligated to post this on my blog. All opinions are my own. All photos on this post are my own. Please give me a heads up if you use one of my photos, they are all under copyright. Melissa Reyes 2014. Read my Disclosure for further details about posts like this.

It’s Moms’ Night Out – What Could Go Wrong? @MNOMovie

Posted on September 2nd, 2014 by & filed under Everything Miz Meliz, Movie Reviews

Disclosure: I am happy to share this info about one of my favorite films on my blog today. I received two DVDs – one to keep and one to give away when I offered to write about the film.  Read my full disclosure about posts like this here. Moms' Night Out

I am a mom and I know what I am talking about!

The Moms’ Night Out movie is close to my heart for many reasons. I was at the Entertainment New Media Network conference when Sarah Drew, Kevin Downes, and Andrea Nasfell walked in the room. They were special guests there to talk to us about their film project.

Sarah Drew plays the main character, Ally – who is a blogger. She is also the mom of three young children. Sean Astin is her husband in the film who encourages her to “find her oxygen” and do something for herself. Kevin Downes, the producer, plays Sean’s best friend, Kevin, who is an “adult child” who loves to play video games. The film was written by Andrea Nasfell.

The panel discussion was about the movie, the film making process and the challenges that faith based filmmakers must face. We were shown a screening of the film. It was delightful! I loved it!

The next day, Sean Astin spent a few hours with us talking about the film, his career and life, his charity work, and his new endeavors. He was super sweet and I enjoyed meeting him and speaking with him.

When the film opened, I was one of the lucky bloggers who were selected to attend the red carpet event and film debut at the world famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood. I also got to attend the after party with the cast, crew and guests at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley in Hollywood. I had a blast and took lots of pictures. You can read all about my experiences and see my photos here. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly reccomend it!

I have a Blu Ray/DVD to give away, so maybe you will be the lucky winner. But don’t wait – go buy one and support this great group of people who brought this wonderful film to life.
