Someday, I will make a special blog post and video for each of these amazing women. But for now, in the spirit of transparency – what you see is what you get! Here is the awesome video of the live, all live, non-edited version of the interview with Melany Berger, Susan Williams and Libby Kennedy. It was my birthday show..in July. Wow – time sure does fly!
Jay and I had a blast interviewing these lovely ladies. I know you will love the video!
I have a passion for healthy living and especially healthy cooking, I am excited about the Freshii grand opening in October! I ran a 10k to End SMA on July 26.
I streamed my training on Meerkat. My hope is to raise awareness for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. It is the #1 killer of children under the age of two.
I love to stream my cooking and recipes! and Go to The GYM! And troll websites for healthy living/eating ideas. I also spend a lot of time thinking. Thinking about business ideas, how to make money, where to invest. Thinking about my short and long term goals.
I love to hang out by the Lake! Toronto is right on the edge of Lake Ontario, and unfortunately city planning did a poor job of integrating the surrounding city with the lakeshore. Being from Vancouver, I am used to living close to the ocean and I just LOVE having a big body of water like this close by. In south Etobicoke there are a couple park areas where you can hang out in the summer, and that reminds me of home, and is where I like to be on a nice hot day!
Susan Williams @thatSusanW
Susan loves to read and listens to books on tape, because she does a lot of driving.
She also loves to cook.
Susan loves to get involved in what’s happening in Nashville on the food scene: it’s grown alarmingly.
She says her family is very creative: husband’s music has been Emmy nominated, and he does music you hear on ads on TV, my daughter has had a national ad with Subaru that she sang on. My son writes songs, is in a group, sings great, too. Nashville is obviously the perfect town for a creative bunch like us. I just finished doing an Apple Pie demo for the Williams-Sonoma in Nashville at the Mall at Green Hills. It’s a very posh place. I had the time of my life. Took to it like a duck takes to water. Totally in my element, doing what I was born to do: cook, teach, interact, laugh, charm, and eat pie.
Susan’s ideas about cooking: that any home cook can up her game with fresh ingredients and a littleunderstanding of why you do things in a particularway, (it’s science, baby) and with an EXCELLENT recipe. She doesn’t share recipes unless it’s something she and her family absolutely love. So if you find a recipe on her site, it’s a winner.
Kayne Prime has the best steak in Nashville. They have an appetizer that is smoked pork belly served in a cast iron skillet with cotton candy. The most amazing presentation. Must be experienced to be believed.
Thanks to my amazing friends for being so patient with me and understanding! I hope they realize that I had high hopes for myself to come up with something spectacular for each of them. And, I will…soon!
A special thanks to Jay (@GeneWildersHair) who was my co-host for this show. It was super fun this summer to do the show together. 🙂
And shout out and props to Garner for the fantastic Intro!!!
I met Ashlee Marie on a field trip to a Ventura, California KOA campground. I was drawn to her by her cool hair color and gorgeous smile. She has an amazing energy and was very kind to me. I overheard her mention that she had just finished the taping of a show. I asked her about it. She said she couldn’t tell me exactly, but it would be aired in October and it was a cooking show.
It turns out that Ashlee is a contestant on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship. The third episode was just on and I am excited to report that Ashlee has not been eliminated. I can’t wait to interview her and introduce you to her you.
Watch it HERE:
I asked Ashlee what she likes to do when she is not baking. She said, “Read, I love to read, but I rarely have time anymore.”
When asked what she is most passionate about, she told me, “Obviously, I love to bake and cook, it’s still a favorite, especially when it’s just for fun and not always for work.”
Ashlee’s favorite things to do are playing board games with family and friends and she loves the beach, just the beach, sand, sun, and ocean.
On Ten Minutes in Tinsel Town, we will talk about the live eClasses Ashlee is starting in January (See the survey on her site now,) her eBooks about Thanksgiving and Holiday Goodies, and of course her appearance on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship.
Ashlee’s favorite thing to do is to teach, and she is excited about her new classes she will be doing live, via video streaming. It will be like having her in your kitchen!
I was wondering, now that she is a super star, where does Ashlee like to hang out? Does she have a favorite Hollywood Hot Spot? She told me, “I had a friend take me to the Soho House once, it was amazing!”
I’d love to be able to get a 2nd home in LA and film my own show and find more hot spots! ~Ashlee Marie
You heard it here, friends! Ashlee has put it out there, I believe she will see all of her dreams come true!
Ashlee lives in Utah, with her husband and five kids. Somehow, she finds time to eat out now and then. “In my own home town I love Sapa Sushi for dinner, the Brunch at The Grand America and the Kouign Amann’s at Les Madeleines (it’s all about food for me, clearly!)”
If you have a question for Ashlee Marie, enter it in the comments.
