Plan

Is it time for you to make a PLAN?

plan-1When it comes to planning, I am totally on it.

Parties, events, schedules, anything and everything.

I am about checklists, and graphs, mapping, and hashing out. Pre-brief, re-brief, de-brief.

What about when it is about me?

How do I know what I want for my Life Plan?

Of the four styles of planning that Sue Loncaric mentions in her post about Creating a Life Plan in the link above, I am most likely these days to use intention planning.

I have actually tried and used all four of the types over the years and feel confident that there are benefits to all of them. Personally, I think for the purpose of planning one’s life direction – intention planning is the best. Of course, I consider myself at my midlife – so I wouldn’t know for sure. But that is the way I am leaning right now. I would like to dive deeper into what intention planning means to me.

“Intention Planning is where you actually imagine yourself in your goal. As in the example of Iceland holiday, you imagine yourself there. You taste it, smell it and feel it. Let’s say again, you want to go to Iceland. Each step you plan is reinforcing your goal into your subconscious until you are there.” ~Sue Loncaric

I see it as a vision…what I want my end goal to be, and knowing that, holding it my heart, in my mind’s eye, creates in me a desire to go in that direction, and my focus, my actions, my decisions are all reflected in the inert need to complete my journey. When I arrive and reach my goal, fulfill my plan, achieve my dream – I know then that I have succeeded. Yes! I intended to do this! Yes, my core desire is to do this thing. It is part of who I am and I can’t stop doing it if I tried. It is me and I am it.

hqdefaultI like to keep lists and journals, and I do use the sticky note system. I have been compared to Spongebob Squarepants who in an episode where he was the party planner, he had everything on a checklist down to the minute. But Life is not a party. It doesn’t always go according to plan. That’s why I feel it is important to think about it and when the smile comes across your face and you see yourself in your moment of glory – that is when you will know what direction to take your life…You know what your soul knows.

“Your soul knows what you need to do to change and improve.” ~Tony Robbins

If it hasn’t risen to the surface yet, trust that it will. Feed your soul, dig deep, and you will find what you are looking for. It might not be a script or detailed minute by minute list, but you will know.

Define

January 4, 2017

The theme word today is Define.

To define as in: to state or set forth the meaning of, to explain or identify the nature or essential qualities of, to describe, to fix or lay down clearly and definitely, specify distinctly, to define one’s responsibilities, to name, to detail, to enumerate, to determine or fix the boundaries or extent of, to make clear the outline or form of...To define as in having a clear vision.

define
I want to be perfectly clear in my intentions. I want to be absolutely certain of my direction.
I know that takes planning, thought, preparation.
I want to state clearly what I know in my heart to be true.
My vision is what is seen clearly from my soul.
I will communicate, express, share, proclaim my vision. I will shout it from the mountain tops!

I know who I am.
I know what I want.
I know how to get it.
I know my truth.
You will know my truth.
It may take some time to define it.
I am willing to do the work.
“Reasons come first, answers come second.
Do what your soul knows needs to be changed or improved.
Create a compelling vision, know your strong reasons to follow through, and feel it every day.” ~Tony Robbins

Cultivate

January 3, 2017

The theme for today is Cultivate.

cultivate-blog-2

To me, that means to prepare, to put the pre-work in, to develop and grow within my heart and in my actions.

I like the word because it motivates me to act on the intention – not just plan in my head what I need to do, but actually lay down the groundwork for my path to greatness.

cultivate

Preparing the way.

Cultivate also means to make friends.

Again, not just meet people and say hello, but to spend time with them building a relationship.

Cultivate. 2017 is about making things happen, not randomly, but with intention for making a lasting, powerful, and beautiful difference in my life and in the world.
