Life is Too Short Not to Do What You Love

October 26, 2012 , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Whenever I start something new, I like to do a little research and learn more about it. That is how I found out about this intriguing dance instructor. I was looking in to learning to dance Salsa. (Yes, really!)  More on that later!

I found Anthony Persaud on Facebook.  He is an engineer who lives and works in San Diego, California. He is an innovative Salsa dance instructor who is living his passion of bringing Salsa to the world.

Anthony’s motto is “Life is too short not to do what you love.” A man true to his word, he left his full-time job to devote himself to his passion of teaching salsa dance.

I was curious about his unique twist on teaching dance. I wondered how Anthony got started and what motivates him. I found out that he loved Salsa and Merengue music as a small kid growing up in Puerto Rico.

He told me, “At the time, Latin pop and reggae were the most popular genres. Salsa and merengue were seen as the dance for the “older” generation. So being a very shy and nerdy kid, I became a bit of a closet salsaholic and I never pursued taking dance lessons for fear of being made fun of at my school.”

Are you wondering how Anthony became a world renowned Latin dance instructor?  Would you like to know the different ways Anthony Persuad uses technology to bring Salsa dance to the world?

I love the part you wrote where he dances from his heart and soul to the tips of his fingers and toes!

Thank you! I am so used to writing about my feelings, I am trying to find the right words to describe others in colorful and emphatic ways.
